Billing Overview
Beachside Medical Centre operates as a mixed billing practice on weekdays and private billing on weekends (effective 27 March 2023).
Payment is required at the time of your consultation.
Weekend Billing
All consultations on weekends are privately billed.
Medicare rebates can be claimed where applicable.
Bulk Billing (Weekdays Only)
The following patients are bulk billed on weekdays:
- Children under 16 years
- Patients with a current Health Care Card
- Pension Card holders
- DVA Gold Card holders
Workers’ Compensation Appointments
All Workers’ Compensation consultations must be paid in full on the day.
A receipt will be provided for submission to your employer or insurer.
Secure Online Payments (HotDoc)
From 18 August 2023, HotDoc requires pre-collection of payment card details to secure all appointments.
- Card details are securely stored via Stripe
- This helps reduce non-attendance and fraudulent bookings
- No charge is processed unless applicable.
Why Fees Are Charged
Due to rising costs including:
- Staff wages
- Medical supplies
- Insurances
- Utilities and the fact that Medicare rebates have not kept pace with inflation, it is no longer financially viable to bulk bill all patients while maintaining high-quality care.
Our fees allow us to continue providing safe, professional, and sustainable general practice services.
Cancellations & Non – Attendance
Please provide at least 2 hours’ notice if you are unable to attend.
Appointments cancelled with less than 2 hours’ notice, or non-attendance, will incur a $70 fee, or $140 for double appointments.
